Cities such as San Diego, Portland, and Seattle offer a greater variety of options when it comes to fitness locations. However, these three major metropolitan areas are limited to just three gyms among them.
A few of their facilities provided round-the-clock access. While Life Time used to offer this service at select locations before the pandemic, it is no longer available. In fact, some smaller gym chains, which charge significantly less, still maintain overnight workout hours.
Life Time offers two primary membership options: Standard and Signature. Adult memberships typically range from $99 to $299 per month, with prices varying significantly by location. A noteworthy advantage at Life Time is the absence of annual fees during the checkout process, as well as $0 initiation fees at all the clubs we checked out—a remarkable find! Their extensive range of services and amenities significantly surpasses many other gym chains.
Generally speaking, you can expect a state-of-the-art workout space that is both expansive and well-equipped with various cardio machines, strength training equipment, and free weights—all fundamental elements in their offerings.
Additionally, certain Life Time locations offer unique fitness amenities that we haven't yet reviewed, such as boxing gyms, indoor water slides, karate studios, lazy rivers, MediSpas, outdoor play mazes, Pilates studios, and even physical therapy and chiropractic services.
Moreover, Life Time features co-working and social areas, along with opportunities for live-in communities. Some locations even include a preschool, kids' academy, or running club. This is where Life Time excels: by going beyond the standard gym experience and providing amenities that create a luxurious, holistic lifestyle.
